Walkin' Willie
RSVP - 113

Here is one I know almost nothing about. Who is Walkin' Willie? I have no idea. What we do have is a nice mixture of New Orleans-y sounds. A Chris Kenner-y or maybe Jessie Hill-y vocal, Toussaint-y piano and female chorus, all overlaid with an Earl King-y guitar riff. If you know anything about this one, please let me know...

Little Walkin' Willie played tenor sax with Frank Motley & His Motley Crew, early 50s. Willie teamed up with Jesse Allen of Louisiana, recorded some for Ace Record label, Jackson Miss.

Don't know how the RSVP 113 fits in. Other 45s for sale are on the Webcor label. Haven't seen any RSVP discography as old as 100 series - the 60s stuff has much bigger catalogue numbers.

Anymore info? Please post.

Thanks for the lead. I had seen a Little Walkin' cd for sale at the Louisiana Muisc Factory website but wasn't sure if that was the same guy. I sure would like to know the personnel info on this song...

No dates on RSVP listing, though.. A little research shows 100 Series from 1960 - early 1963. The 1100 Series starts circa late 1963 - 1968.

No idea why they changed the cat numbers from 100s to 1100s.
