Here's a damn catchy little dancer that has been getting numerous spins at the JBM household lately. Nice girl group sound, but guess what? They're not girls...

Great Song! Legend has it the sax player was a session guy that worked a lot of studio sessions in NYC. He got Florence Greenberg (Owner of Scepter/Wand Labels) to hear the kids (one of whom he was the father of) and they signed the group. The follow up was very much like sounding called "Like The Big Guys Do"... JBM hits some gems every now & then. Thanks Guyz!

Well, no... BUT if you really want to impress me, come up with "Little White Lies" by The Motley Blues Band, also on Scepter. Can't seem to find that one anywhere. It was out around the time "Winchester Cathedral" was popular and I believe intended as an absurd put-on of it. It did get some airplay though.

Hey JBM, I couldn't find an email addy for you so I'm placing this in comments. This is a sharekey link to the RockyFellers 2 songs on my MediaFire account. You can post or not. I'll leave the file public for a few days in case anyone can't find/buy these songs.

Woohoo! I haven't heard this song in ...er...um...ahem...over 20 years! A friend had it on one of the awesome 80's 'Kent' or 'Charley' label soul compilations, which I was always borrowing to make my own compilation tapes from. I totally agree that it does have a real 'girl group' vibe to it.

Cheers, & keep the goodies coming!
