This is a pretty shameless reworking of Chuck Berry's Rollover Beethoven and while I'm not crazy about the idea of Sharpe claiming composing credit for this, it's still a great song. The Fort Worth, Texas born Ray was one of the few true "black rockabillies" and was aparrently a big influence on fellow Texans Ronnie Dawson and Bobby Fuller. This is the flip of the more well known Linda Lu. Produced by Lee Hazlewood.

Love this tune. Check "JoJo Gunn" by Chuck Berry for its (pri)mate.

Me too! Wait, JoJo Gunn is about a monkey? Gotta find a copy of that one...

What you need to find is a song about a monkey who beats his wife. *Then* you'd have something. ;-)

"at Christmas", I forgot to add to the above post. The monkey misogamy has to occur at Christmas.

Wow. If such a song existed, I would LOVE to find it. I'm thinking maybe we need to write that song. Whaddaya say?
