I first saw the above clip, from Sid Caesar's "Your Show of Shows," on some music documentary that was discussing the cultural impact of rock and roll. In it, Sid Caesar, Karl Reiner and Howard Morris do their impression of what they think rock and roll is about. I love this bit, it's a classic. When I recently found this 45 I was surprised to learn that RCA actually released the song as a single in 1955.
This novelty piece (mocking white R&B groups such as the Crew Cuts) was quite popular, reaching the top 10 in Buffalo. It is logical to assume that if Billboard had been printing a Top 100 at this point in 1955, this song (and the actual flip "Goin' Crazy") would have been entries.
This is simply a blog where I post interesting 45s that I come across. I'm not an expert on records or music history and I'm fairly lazy, so don't expect a lot of exhaustive background or research. Comments are highly encouaged...
Most of the music files presented here come from my personal 45 collection and are posted for purposes of musical enlightenment only. These are mostly obscure songs, over 40 years old, that may not have been reissued on CD. The intention is to raise awareness of underappreciated artists/songs. If you like what you hear, seek these artists out on CD or get out there and find some of this old vinyl for yourself... If you are the copyright holder and wish any files to be removed, I will do so immediately upon request.

Too funny.
Actually, it's just funny enough...
