Another New Orleans Before and After...
Audio File Deleted
This time we give the before and after treatment to Shirley Goodman. Shirley is most famous as half of the New Orleans R&B duo Shirley and Lee. Shirley's voice is high and squeaky and she is frequently off (way off) key. "I Feel Good" is a bouncy tune (circa 1956) in a similar bag as their big hit from the previous year: "Feel So Good." Disc two on the Vibration label, brings Shirley into the disco era ('74) under the tutelage of Sylvia Robinson (of Mickey and Sylvia fame, later founder of Sugar Hill Records.)

Thanks! How did you find it? If you don't mind me asking...
that blog with the blue background would be mine. thankyouverymuch.
Hey Hank! You know, I just learned that you went to Newman Smith. I've been thinking that I knew you from somewhere. What year did you graduate?
I graduated in 1982, my sister in 1985 (I thought I knew you, too).
That's not it then. I was there from '85 - '87... Did you go to UNT maybe?
No, I went to Texas A&M and UT Austin. You ever live in Austin? This is going to bother me now... (and I think it's odd that four of us from NSHS 20 or so years ago are working at the store).
No, I'm stumped. You know, my fiancee went to NS also. Okay, you, me and colby... who's the 4th?
Crabtree. And he graduated the same year as me, too (but we didn't know each other).
