You might want to consider moving the tuntable off the top of the receiver. There is a hum field generated by the power transformer which might be picked up by the magnetic cartridge in the turntable. A good way to test this is to turn the volume way up & with the tone arm locked down, move the turntable. If you're getting hum it would be in the 60hz area and would intensify or subside depending on where you place the turntable. Good Luck! That looks like a good Ol' Sony Receiver.

Ha, good for you. I'm still using the Numark.
@Mike: Thanks for the tip! I'll try that out. I appreciate the advice...
@Todd: This thing fell into my lap, so I might as well use it...
I have an old Sony reciever as well, needs a little work cause one of the channels is out, but I love those things. I was wondering, Blake, what would you suggest as far as something to transfer vinyl to mp3/soundfiles in the realm of the new turntables?

Hey there Hank! Believe me, I am no expert on this stuff. That little Numark PT-01 worked great for me for quite a while and will only set you back about $100. No need to spend a ton of money...
