Whoa. Here's a weird and creepy offering from someone calling themselves Whispering Pigg (actually Larry Randall). According to my minimal research, he released one forty five. What? You've never heard of him? Produced by Norman Petty.

Well Joey, there is just the one guy here (that's me). Glad you dug the record and I REALLY appreciate the mention!
Norman Petty was noting the "novelty" style records being released at the time. Larry Randall Pigg (dropped the last name for his role in "The Big Beats") asked about a whispering style song, to which Petty told him to write one. Larry's girlfriend at the time was one Darlene Enlow. Darlene was in the recording booth with Petty and Rhythm Orchid member Jimmy Bowen while the Big Beats recorded this track. Darlene & Bowen struck up conversation and Larry says as he was singing "where are you going", she literally was...out the door with Bowen. The 2 ended up marrying for a few years, with Darlene ending up on various '60s TV shows, most notably as a Glea Girl on Jackie Gleason's "American Scene Magazine", Bewitched and others. She passed away in 2009. You can hear Larry tell his side of the story in the upcoming documentary on Norman Petty Recording Studios (due out 2014) from the Super Oldies label.
