Bobby Clanton
The Way That You Are
Van - 01664
Early 60s?

Van Records may have been based in Angleton, Texas, but this recording is pure South Louisiana! Not sure who Bobby Clanton is (any relation to Jimmy Clanton?) and some initial web searching turned up next to nothing. This is a haunting ballad in the classic Swamp Pop style. The only other 45 I've seen on this label was a garage rocker, so go figure...

Long line of releases on Van. Country, garage, 60s pop, soul, and instros.

They never turn up out in West Texas.

Cool. This label is new to me, but I've like what I've heard, so far... I wonder who M. Angell is?

Got the B side to this handy? I'd love to hear it.

Thanks for all the great songs! I love the obscure 45s.
